Press Release

San Francisco, CA -- October 30, 2001 -- Neomar, Inc. announced today the Neomar Mobile Solutions Center (MSC), a dynamic Internet-based resource for mobile enterprise application support. The MSC, which includes links to demonstrations and trial versions of leading enterprise wireless applications and other resources, is on the Web at

"Many companies today are investigating the ways that mobile solutions can improve their businesses," said W.R. "Butch" Winters, Neomar's CEO. "But there really isn't a single place on the Internet that they can go to find software downloads, application demonstrations, and to get their questions answered. The MSC is designed to serve as a resource for enterprise managers who are launching mobile initiatives. Neomar is very excited to be taking a leading role in this."

The company also announced today a software promotion in which Neomar and its distribution partners, including 724 Solutions and Research In Motion (RIM), will offer free 30-day trials of the Neomar Enterprise Server (NES) version 3.0, Neomar's secure wireless application delivery and management software, to qualified enterprise customers. The promotion will also include trial versions and demonstrations of enterprise applications from such leading developers as Network Associates, Peregrine Systems, Orsus Solutions, and others, optimized for RIM's BlackBerry wireless email solution.

"RIM and Neomar are committed to developing wireless enterprise data access solutions that extend the functionality of BlackBerry," said Jim Balsillie, Chairman and Co-CEO of Research In Motion. "With support for a range of enterprise applications, the Neomar Mobile Solutions Center is a great resource for organizations that want the benefit of additional mobile applications quickly and inexpensively. "

Both the Neomar Mobile Solutions Center and the software promotion demonstrate wireless applications that enterprises can use to increase productivity, maximize revenues and profits, and enhance companies' responsiveness to their customers and mobile workforces. Both are intended to accelerate the deployment of wireless applications within Fortune 1000 enterprises. The MSC is planned as an ongoing resource, with the trial promotion continuing throughout the fourth quarter of 2001.

The MSC includes links to trial versions and demonstrations of applications from a variety of leading software companies and solution providers, including 724 Solutions, Aether Systems, BitFlash, Clearigo Solutions, EarthLink, Equinox Solutions, Network Associates, Onset Technology, Orsus Solutions, and Peregrine Systems. The company also announced that future enhancements to the MSC include a discussion board, as well as links to other wireless solution sites.

"To remain competitive, it is imperative for organizations to offer the ability to conduct secure transactions on virtually any wireless device," said John Sims, CEO of 724 Solutions. "724 Solutions offers its customers secure and scalable infrastructure and applications and Neomar enables us to significantly expand our support for the growing number of wireless devices on the market. Working seamlessly with our offerings, Neomar's software allows enterprise customers, like banks and brokerage firms, to exploit the wireless channel and reach as many of their customers as possible."

The trial promotion includes the company's Neomar Enterprise Server software for both the Microsoft NT and Sun Solaris operating systems, as well as its Neomar Microbrowser for RIM Wireless Handhelds. Under the promotion, customers receive a no-cost license to use the Neomar software for a 30-day trial period. Also included in the promotion are trial versions or demonstrations of applications from the following partners:

-- 724 Solutions will offer a trial version of its 724 Solutions Transcoding Tool

"There's no doubt that every Fortune 1000 company has at least some segment of its workforce that can benefit from mobile, always-on access to corporate applications," said John Troyer, chief strategy officer at Neomar. "The goal of the Neomar Mobile Solutions Center, and of the trial promotion, is to help Fortune 1000 companies and our partners jump-start as many application trials as they can over the next several months. For the first time, enterprises can visit a single place on the Web to download trial software and get their questions answered about mobile application support. And our distribution partners make it even easier to participate in the promotion by offering the NES and other software on a free CD as well."

To participate in the promotion, enterprise customers should contact their 724 Solutions, Aether Systems, Neomar, or Research In Motion account representative. Each partner will be responsible for distributing the trial software and/or provisioning network access to its customers.
