Clearstone Adds Vish Mishra as Venture Partner

MENLO PARK, CALIF. -- Venture capital firm Clearstone Venture Partners said it named Vish Mishra as venture partner.

Mr. Mishra formerly served as founder and board member of Telera, a voice Web infrastructure company that was funded by Accel Partners and Sequoia Capital, and is now part of Alcatel. Mr. Mishra also formerly served as CEO of MindWorks, IntelliMatch, and Ace Software.

At Clearstone, Mr. Mishra will be working on communications and software investments, including wireless semiconductor firms and security infrastructure companies. Mr. Mishra will invest out of the company's current $350 million fund. The company plans on making another dozen or so investments out of the fund before raising another.

Mr. Mishra joins Leonid Kazovsky as venture partner. Other investment professionals include managing directors Bill Elkus, James Armstrong, William Quigley, and Erik Lassila.

Clearstone Venture Partners has $450 million under management. The firm's investors include CalPERS, Goldman Sachs, HarbourVest, Horsley Bridge, JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the state of Michigan.
